I really enjoy symbolism. For myself, when I pick out a particular symbol it is because it has an interesting meaning to me personally. I really enjoy the Maya, and Olmec glyphs. Fringe occultism like all the awesome symbolism within the Oahspe,
The alphabetical symbols from the various tablets. Like the tablets of Kil, Empagatu, Zeryl, Fonece, and many others. They are loaded with pictorial symbols.
Many other ancient civilizations symbolic languages. The Egyptian symbols/language is really cool. The Sumerians.. The oldest symbolic language in the history of all Earthly civilizations.
We here in the West seem fascinated with Japanese, and Chinese style language symbols. Very popular within tattoos.
Your absolutely right about how there are many. Many many more than the few mentioned.
I think that to be able and include any of the many ancient and or fringe type historical symbologies like above in jewelry designing. Even the lost continent of MU and the Lemurian civilization that predate the Maya/Olmec's. To incorporate any of the many ancient symbols into our pieces of jewelry and include a little history and the meaning to the symbols would really add to and make for unique, and interesting jewelry.
Hmmm.... maybe I will start to think about that as I do more silversmithing and build up a line of jewelry. Maybe pick a specific symbolic language and civilization and create sort of a design niche around it..
