Cool...... Will be back here as soon as mine arrives..

Thanks for starting this.

This book came highly recommended to a few people via Twitter. Apparently a really hot book that shares suggested sellers "hypnotic" textual content for product listings etc...

Looking forward to talking about this one !

I am currently in the process of rereading mine. This book really puts you in the right mind set for selling your work. Instead of telling the customer why your product is great, this book will teach you how to appeal to basic human wants and needs of your customer, and really get into the mind of the reader. From this new perspective, you have the ability to be much more influential in your writing. It also has helped me to understand what people are looking for in a product, any product, and why. So it can also help you to understand who your target audience is and what they are looking for. Example: People like to feel special. I don't care who they are or what kind of a person they are, this applies to everyone, so instantly, you know something about your customer, this is why personalized items always sell so well. Mr Joe Vitale has shamelessly "embedded" in this book advertisements for many of his other books and products. If you can get past that, this is a great read,, but I must say it does serve as another great example of how you can use hypnotic writing.

One thing I think is important to point out.. Especially being a seller, don't want anyone to get the wrong impression about the purpose of the book with thoughts that those of us considering using the books suggestions are trying by any means to actually hypnotize people into buying from us..

In the "Authors Warning" section front of book..

The content in the book among other things are intended for example to keep a reader interested in what we write for a longer period of time.

We can not "make" anyone do anything against their will as a result of using the writing suggestions within the book.

It is not "evil" by any means, so we should not let ourselves get caught up in such myths..

So the book is simply a tool. Using the writing techniques does not give the writer/sales person any special powers over the reader. In marketing/sales the writing techniques simply give an edge in terms of captivating the attention of the reader for a longer period of time.

Any hoo...... Just felt the need to clarify. Especially for the sake of potential and or existing customers who may be following along here..

Hopefully for people who have this book, we can simply share what we learn and how we individually apply the writing techniques within our articles, blogs, stores, etc...

Time to hit an auction ! Will share more as I read on........

I think this will be one heck of a learning curve for all of us, trying to promote and design at the same time. i'm thrilled to see that only a few specific words can pull in so much attention... i tried a few on twitter a few nights ago and got slammed by follows..i think i only read the first few pages. lol. i still think frozenartist deserves rights to the increased sales in this book, from her mention of it only about a week ago! LOL. what do you think joe?

Good one Joe... Maybe we can offer some coupons on our stores..

"If you felt driven and or overly compulsive to purchase, just mention it at checkout for an additional 5% discount/donation for Jessica" !

I am just starting chapter 13.

I don't want to sound disappointed, but so far...... not really getting anything special out of the book..

The use of certain stimulating words are obvious.. Although I have to admit have not practiced using them.

I did write down Chapter two's steps about explaining what I do during my writing processes.. Before, during, and after.

Pretty much stuck to blog entry writing, but in the back of my mind was also thinking about product titles and descriptions within my store..

I do see a lot sites that go into lengthy detail about describing their individual items.. See it with lots of gemstone sites. About all I do to try and provide something interesting for the shopper is to link to ongoing forum discussions about a mineral, or process involved in working with it.. Sometimes I will add a video clip to show something interesting.

Can't say I have done anything in regards to any kind of special descriptive or captivating words thinking that it would make the item more interesting.

I can sure see how it could benefit. Yet I think many times a picture alone tells a thousand words.....

Still reading !

What has helped my the most is learning how to introduce my items in a more positive and appealing way. This is really important as it tells the reader how they will relate to an item. There are a lot of ways to introduce an item, but what you want is to intoduce your item in a way that sets a scene in the readers mind where they are the main character, and they are happily using the item. It's all about what the customer wants after all. I recently sold an item called "catwoman dagger earrings". I could have called them black spinel earrings with sterling silver, but that would have not been as appealing. I simply took the main feel of the earrings, (dark, sleek, sexy, feminine) and applied a reference to something well known for these features! Someone who doesn't like cat woman may have been turned off by the reference to cat woman, but that's a risk you take.

I agree with Taogems idea about a picture being better than words. In fact, I was really racking my brain to figure out an intro to my websiter i'm in the process of putting together. Thinking I could use hypnotic writing to draw people in. What I came up with is using the same ideas used in writing, but in pictures. My plan is to show a variety of scenes with different women wearing my pieces, this will show versatility and also give customers the chance to relate to the models wearing the pieces, I know when I look for something I would prefer to see it on a model who looks like me. They will be in a variety of scenes as well, say like an office setting, a natural setting, and maybe a night out in a fancy restaurant. Still working out the details but you can see how this might draw people in. The idea is the same though, you are creating a scene in which the customer can see themselves.

It took me a long time to actually "get" some of the concepts of this book. What has helped me the most is analyzing different TV and radio commercials, using the ideas of the book and recognizing how they created their ad and why it was good or bad. I'll write more later about how the ads are broken up and seperating the parts. My enthusiasm suprises even me, i'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to this stuff :)

Hmmm....I'm beginning to think I should have saved my money, not purchased the book, and instead just read all about it here!! LOL

I'm kidding of course ; ) I have quite a bit on my plate right now with having to find a new place to live, packing, etc...so I haven't done much reading yet...will get to it soon I hope.
