I want to make a window perch to set up a little photo stage in front of a window but can't quite figure out the best way to do it. I've studied cat perches to get an idea of the frame and all but if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it!!

Well ma'am let me suggest to you a place called www.1000markets.com. They are AWESOME!! It's the best way to set up a shop without having to run your own website. Your set up and pictures are free, they just take a small fee from every sale which is…

Lauren... Thanks for the nice feedback on my jewelry. It is always great to hear from other jewelry artists. Yes, to the question about the Malachite stone... it was about two inches long and 1/2 inch thick, a nice stone.
Thanks for the friendship request... see ya around the site.
Peace

I'm still waiting for my website to be finished. The best marketing tool is face to face sales. Ask Salons and Boutiques to buy your jewelry at wholesale with your business cards right by your jewelry or Consign with them and do the same. You can ask local Craftstores to display your jewelry made with their products or have a truck show out front of the store, giving the store a cut of your sales, don;t forget to wear something you've made! I'm trying to Network through Facebook & Twitter also. You can ask your friends or family or people you meet to Host a show for you, giving the Host a free gift up to a certain $ amount and discounts on other items etc. Having kids in school, I've made good $ displaying a few items in the Staff Lounge of the schools with my business cards. Also, I've donated items to support different programs through the schools. It's a good way to get your name out there! I've even sold to my Chiropractor and staff just by asking if I could bring my Jewelry in. With lots of foot work and commitment you can build your business. I hope that helps! -Maria

Lauren,
I was looking at your workbench pictures and noticed your photo setup.
I'm having a horrible time getting web quality photos and my set up is similar to yours. You could really help me out if you wouldn't mind answering a dozen questions or so. Sorry....
What kinds of bulbs do you use & what wattage are they? What's the material on your tent? How many mp in your camera? Do you use the macro setting? What's your ISO setting? Do you edit your pictures? Photoshop? If so, what's your image size and resolution? Anything I forgot to ask? LOL
Your pictures are so clear and crisp! And I love your use of color and design.
Thanks in advance. Sorry if this is an inconvience.

Good Gawd you are tougher than I am!!! I only get migrains about every 2 months and they put me right in bed for2-3 days.. sucks when we are on the road let me tell ya! I started to play with the polymer clay just a bit before I got my Bronze clay... it's close but the metal clay dryes out really fast so you need to keep it moist while you are working... sometimes it seems that I spend more time reworking the clay than forming it! I started out with the bronze cause you can get 200 gram packs for about $35 where you have to spend about$65 for 45 grams of the silver clay!

Im glad you got to visit with family at Easter! I was just excited to be home this year.

We have to head back out on the road but I am bringing all of my pendants and stuff with me so let me know what one you want and I will set it aside for ya! You did get the pix right?

I bet you are as excited about your getting your order as I am about getting mine!! Thank god for tax returnes!! I am getting so much wire I will be able to make tons of necklaces, bracelets and earrings!! I cant wait to see your new work!!

Profile Information

About Me
I Looove to make jewelry but just don't have anywhere to get rid of it at. Love dogs. I had 2, recently adopted 2 more, then went halves on another one with the boyfriend so now I have 5! :-D I read, write, love board games, cards, camping, fishing, hiking, and doing anything creative.
How many years have you been designing jewelry?
I've been designing jewelry since I was kid. I've always made necklaces, bracelets, friendship bracelets etc. I used to cross stitch as well, and crochet. I try to mainly focus on gemstone jewelry in their most natural forms hoping it will keep some of the healing properties in tact. Lately though I've been doing more fashion type jewelry to sell for cheap at my campground's flea market in the summer. I do real good there. What I do is set up the fashion jewelry and then set out cards to my webstore that has the good gemstone jewelry. Haven't had much luck yet but it's ok. I didn't start making jewelry to sell it. I do it because I love to do it. I love to create beautiful things. Selling it is just an added bonus.
What is your favorite jewelry store?
I have yet to find a jewelry store filled with my idea of unique jewelry. Big jewelry chains, diamonds etc, don't impress me.
Did you go to school to learn jewelry design?
Nope. I taught myself everything I know. I'm big into researching things that interest me so if I want to learn how to do something I figure it out myself.
Do you have a favorite jewelry designer (other then yourself...)
An E-friend of mine that suggested me to this site makes absolutely beautiful unique pieces that are just gorgeous and admirable. You can find her stuff at www.crowgirlsjewelry.com!!

What's The Best Guage?

I've been doing a lot of earrings lately but the sterling silver headpins I have seem sooo thin and flimsy. I was wondering if people would share their favorite size, guage and supplier for headpins/eyepins when making earrings. Also does ANYONE know who carries the best price and best variety of argentium silver findings??

*~Place to Sell~* CHECK IT OUT

Anyone looking for a place or places to sell their jewelry online? I recently joined a site called www.1000markets.com It's beautifully desiged and well thought up. You can list and sell your items as well as blog, join markets, and chat with local jewelers, artists, sellers and more. Go check it out. The whole thing is real nice. The best part is the fee is so doable. They take 5.5% of every sale + .50 cents. So let's say you sell something for 42.00, you only end up paying about a 2 dollar and… Continue
