I do mainly wire wrapping and I really prefer my round nose tool. Like some said above, you really have to practice using the Wigjig. I have one buried somewhere in my things? I do love the website though... lots of wonderful tuts.

Boy when it rains, it pours, huh? I was beginning to wonder since I hadn't seen you on in a while. I'm glad you and your dad are feeling better. My daughter's computer got that 'Conficker' virus and it really messed it up, causing us to have to reinstall Windows xp. You should make a disc backup of your computer files just to be safe-or at least your jewelry pics! I learned my lesson when my computer was stolen and I lost pics. Have you joined Twitter yet? We've had a ton of new members join from word of mouth on Twitter-you should check it out if you're not already on there. Post your new earrings when you've finished them so we can check them out :D

Thanks for the comment, Michelle! Yeah, that name took awhile to create....I was batting several different things around before I finally came up with it. :o)

I think I've seen a few of your pieces around here, and let me just say that you are a very talented designer. The ideas that are all on here are overwhelming, and such a big help when you're in an idea slump.

Thanks for the friend request! Be seein' ya around! :o)

Hey lady. I saw your comment on Lexi's page about you getting a light box. I had mentioned them to you about a year ago or so. Aren't they so much fun? I have the same kind you do only my back drops are blue and gray. What I do though, is I through large pieces of fabric over it then drape it down towards me and close the top piece. Isn't that thing just a blasty? It's just one more way to be creative. I love mine.

Michelle - I am about three months late on responding to a message you left for me on my comments wall. VERY sorry for the late reply. In all honesty, I spend very little time on this network. My focus is fashion and not jewelry. I spend much of my time at the Fashion Industry Network. I actually created this Jewelry Network because I thought it would help people that are specifically focused on Jewelry. Thanks to Manic Butterfly, this network is running smoothly. It was my idea to develop the site, but her spirit that makes it helpful to people interested in jewelry.

Just wanted to say hello Michelle.

Really nice jewelry you make. I have my eye on your portable display case set up. I really like that.

You picked me out to be a friend, so am doing the same in return. Looking forward to seeing more of your pieces.

Profile Information

About Me
Hi my name is Michelle and I am from Milwaukee, WI. I was born without arms and legs and love a challenge. I was laid off from my job twice due to downsizing and stumbled upon creating jewelry. I make my jewelry with my shoulder and mouth, hence my jewelry business called Jewelry By Jaws. Cute huh? It started out as creating presents for friends and family because I couldn't afford to buy them anything and boomed into my passion and new career. My newest jewelry addiction is wire wrapping. I LOVE the wire. I do get the sharp edges poking the inside of my mouth every once in awhile and scratches on my face... I should tell my boss I want disability pay... oh wait, I am my boss. :0) I also love creating websites but HATE taking pictures of my jewelry. Everyone thinks it's easier than it looks. I give big props to the fine pics of others jewelry. I'm excited to join this group because I LOVE to talk about jewelry and throw ideas back and forth with other designers.
How many years have you been designing jewelry?
I've been designing jewelry for about 5 years now.
What is your favorite jewelry website?
http://www.jewelrybyjaws.com
What is your favorite jewelry store?
I like my jewelry store of course. To purchase beads and other materials, I like Michael's, Joanne Fabrics, Shipwreckbeads.com, Firemountain, EBay, Knot Just Beads and sometimes I can even find some fun beads at Walmart.
Did you go to school to learn jewelry design?
I didn't go to school for jewelry design but I have and still do, research online, looking at other jewelers sites and believe it or not, youtube.com has some ''online jewelry classes''
Do you have a favorite jewelry designer (other then yourself...)
No.

I'm Kidding. Lots of my friends on my myspace page inspire me.

Clay Bead Making...

Clay bead making is not for me. I purchased EVERYTHING and not once have I enjoyed making beads. :0( So, not only did I ruin a perfectly good toaster oven [once you bake polymer clay in the toaster over, you CANNOT use it for making food. The clay gives off poisoness fumes] but I have all of this stuff crowding my workspace. So, I'd like to sell everything and was wondering if anyone would be interested in purchasing it?

It would include:

Toaster Oven
Pasta Maker
Bead Rollers
Baking Rack with… Continue
