I do mainly wire wrapping and I really prefer my round nose tool. Like some said above, you really have to practice using the Wigjig. I have one buried somewhere in my things? I do love the website though... lots of wonderful tuts.
The wig jig and tutorials on Jewelry Lessona by Eni Oken & friends at http://www.jewelrylessons.com/jewel/ may help. There are free tutorials and some for pay, but the cost is really minimal. Good luck!
The wigjig tool is a precision gadget ( tailored made for this looping activity ) you can use to make perfectly measured loops for your clover designs. It's far much better than just the round nose pliers alone.
I do a few things with wire and at first started with the wigjig thing to get some practice and an idea on how to curve the wires. It is a great little tool to have. After many practices, you probably won't need it anymore. One advantage of the wigj…
Is anyone familiar with doing these techniques?
I've been messing around with my copper/silver wire spools making clovers and butterflies recently to master the technique and they're turning out pretty good. But I have a question, I was browsing the…
I'm a full time student, lover, momma to the greatest baby in the world (my cat Tigz!) and a part time designer and entrepreneur for Virtuous Jewelry. I'm tattoo and pierced and I promise to be colorful. I have morals and I'm in love! I'm passionate about life.
How many years have you been designing jewelry?
1 year. I must say though that I am quite the craftoholic. I scrap book (making the actual book itself), I do post card art, In the past I used to make plastic beaded bracelets for my friends and hemp bracelets/anklets through grade school. I've moved onto the bigger kid stuff though ;) I've also altered clothes, and sometimes making clothes completely by hand (they probably weren't the BEST but when you're 12 and you made the shirt you wore to school, it's pretty nifty). I've also done silk screening. I told you, I'm a craftoholic!
I've got several, usually I do a lot of research on quantity/quality and price before I purchase (college drains every cent from my pocket so smart shopping is essential!)
Do you have a favorite jewelry designer (other then yourself...)
I really like individuals who make their own pendants/beads whether it be by glass blowing or using clay. I would really love to get into other jewelry techniques, and If anyone has any suggestions on what techniques I should try, just message me <3
