Yes that is my Lapidary / Gemstone Forum.

Just my opinion, but seems like folks are not shaping the higher domed cabs as much for jewelry these days. Most all of my cabs are low domed or almost flat and end up being about 5mm in height.

So by the time I work a preform from a 1/4" slab it turns out just right for what I like.
